The program loads in seconds from the CD-ROM (space is kept to a minimum by keeping the lions share of the program code on the CD, which must be in its carrier to run the tutorials). The product can be accessed from the desktop for those periods when you want to concentrate on a particular lesson or when youd like to go exploring. But you can also access the program from within AutoCAD under the Help pulldown on the main menu in case you discover a gap in your training while engaged in 3D production drawing. This is a key feature of the product (and the concept behind the products development) allowing you to review concepts and techniques when you most need them. The three primary approaches to using Referentia for AutoCAD are presented as icons on the programs opening interface. Depending on your mood, you can select a tutorial lesson that provides step-by-step directions and narrations for performing a drawing process; a concept section that provides higher-level explanations of those head-scratchers, such as Model Space and Paper Space; and a Fast Answers section in which you can enter a command or term that may be eluding you and quickly get a selection of lessons that explore the term. The clean interface shows the influence of the Web, sporting Back and Forward buttons for your navigating pleasure and a Home button to deposit you safely back at the beginning in case your exploration gets you disoriented.
