Customer Reviews
Excellent for migrating AutoCAD users, August 19, 2001
Reviewer: Nicholas Obara (Garland, Texas United States)
From the very first chapter, I was impressed. This book teaches one the basics and fundamentals of 3D design using Solid Works. I have experience using AutoCAD since version 2.x (way back...). I have bought a few books on the way. In comparison, the author needs to delve a little further into explaining why certain commands/options are engaged in the featured projects, the way they are, hence the 4 stars.
I realize it is a basic tutorial, however, you will have a lot of readers asking the same question.
Was it worth the money? You bet!
Good, could be better., July 31, 2001
Reviewer: A reader
If you are looking for something to lead you through how to use the program at a basic level step by step this tutorial does it. However, it falls short in explaining why the features function as they do which makes it hard to advance your skills beyond the tutorial. Also the addition of a reference would allow the user when working to expand beyond the book examples to go back and review the pertinent sections.
